Risk / P&L Bookrunner Job


Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Risk and P/L specialist for the Global Markets.  This is a rapidly growing business for our client. This position requires a person who has P&L and Risk knowledge, as well as a solid understanding of RMBS products, Securitization, and Derivatives.

The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills in order to understand some of the complex products traded by this trading desk including:

  • Pass thrus
  • CMOs
  • Alt A
  • Subprime
  • CDS
  • IRS / Caps, Floors, Swaptions
  • Corps / Monolines

In addition, must also have strong communication skills in order to liaise with the Front Office, Finance, IT, along with many other areas of the bank.  The candidate must have a strong control mindset and have a control / finance background.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with the Front Office to learn the Business
  • Producing accurate P\L & Risk to the Desk on a daily basis
  • Various reconciliations associated with doing P\L (example being cash and position recs.)
  • Coordinate various sub-ledger feeds to daily P/L & risk reporting systems
  • Learning and understanding the various Systems DB uses for this Business
  • Working with our Projects team, and IT and the Front Office to improve the overall control infrastructure for this expanding business
  • Assist Front Office, Central Valuations Group, and Market Risk with the validation process for various pricing models
  • Coordinate business sign-offs
  • Involved in the month-end process
  • Work with IT team to ensure that development and IT testing is complete
  • Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes, controls and procedures within the area
