Physical Commodities Operations - Base Metals Contract Manager Job

 

A Southern Connecticut, large bank and financial services organization in the physical commodities space seeks an experienced professional to expand its existing operations.

 

Job Description:

 

  • Draft and manage base metals freight contracts
  • Perform contract administration tasks, processing changes, amendments, and contract terminations
  • Monitor contracts to ensure they are priced correctly and paid by contract dates
  • Accurately process all base metals transactions timely, which includes manage contracts, settlements, shipments, contracting and inventory records at Brady (metals’ system)
  • Manage invoices/billing efficiently to maintain inventory control and to ensure counterparty accounts are current and accurate
  • Reconcile inventory and hedging activities daily and prepare reports as directed
  • Where needed and according to contract ensure that all physical products are covered by the appropriate insurance

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Deep knowledge of base metals commodities contracts (Copper, Zinc, Aluminum, Lead, Nickel)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement procedures, price analysis techniques, contract law and industrial practices
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position at the European/US market
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Ability to interface with coworkers globally
  • Confidence to liaise with Front Office & outside Counterparties within the business with regards to issues or queries
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a focus for controls, details and accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Ability to work unsupervised, in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Fluent English
