Director, Loan Syndication

 

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Originate, structure and execute corporate and structured syndicated finance transactions in the loan markets
  • Production of offers, pitches and term sheets with the Relationship Manager
  • Assist in preparation of marketing strategy for coverage areas
  • Prepare capital structure assessments which include comparable transactions and analysis of market Data.  Ensure that the group database is kept up to date
  • Oversee the preparation of pitch books and market updates for clients, Information Memoranda for lead transactions and slides for bank meetings/road shows as needed.
  • Expand an investor base among banks and funds
  • Make market sounding calls resulting in accurate predictive intelligence
  • Negotiation of credit documents in liaison with Counsels
  • Support internal approvals by writing insightful Syndication Advices and taking part in committees
  • Work well within the USA Merchant Banking Group
  • Supervise and develop junior staff
  • Assist in production of the Newsletter

 

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Educate junior Relationship Managers about the loan syndication product
  • Source and communicate other cross-sell opportunities to the relevant Relationship Managers and Product Specialists

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 

Education and Experience

  • 6-10 years experience as a loan syndicator
  • Sector knowledge of commodities
  • Well-developed network of clients, banks and funds
  • Capital markets and acquisition related knowledge
  • Financial modeling and loan documentation knowledge
  • Underwriting experience

 

Key Competencies

  • Ability to manage the deal process through inception, closing and Agency
  • Persuasive oral and writing skills
