Job Description:
The Horizon Group is currently seeking a talented and experienced Business Intelligence Engineer with expertise in Tableau to join our client's team. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing, implementing, and maintaining Tableau-based solutions that facilitate data analysis and reporting across various departments within the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data, Credit, Finance, Operations, and Legal, to understand business requirements and translate them into impactful reporting solutions. Your Tableau expertise will enable the company to enhance its business intelligence capabilities and make data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Tableau Development:
- Design, develop, and implement Tableau dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Create visually appealing and interactive visualizations to effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
- Optimize Tableau workbooks and data sources for improved performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into Tableau solutions.
- Build custom calculations, parameters, filters, and advanced Tableau functionalities to address specific business needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate comprehensive reports and executive summaries using Tableau to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business users to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for monitoring business performance.
- Automate data refreshes and report generation processes for timely and accurate delivery of insights.
User Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to business users on Tableau functionality, best practices, and self-service analytics.
- Assist users in troubleshooting issues, optimizing queries, and improving Tableau performance.
- Document Tableau solutions, data sources, and workflows to maintain a knowledge base and promote reusability.
Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements and trends in the field of business intelligence and Tableau.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, techniques, and approaches to enhance data visualization and analysis.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Tableau development and implementation.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, including advanced calculations, parameterization, and dashboard optimization.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience working with relational and multidimensional databases.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with complex data sets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- Relevant Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Associate) are a plus.
