Hospital/Physician Integration

It appears certain that organizations that create a collaborative environment where physicians and hospitals can enhance the quality of care and coordinate that care efficiently and effectively will benefit from significant financial incentives. Regardless if this environment is called accountable care or if it simply provides a competitive advantage over others in the market the need to begin to align physicians and hospitals is absolute.

We begin with a series of interview with Stakeholders throughout the market. The individuals selected will include senior leadership in the hospital(s), thought leaders in the employed physician and voluntary medical staff arena, and potentially key physiucians that might be aligned with competitors. The goal of these sessions is to identify beliefs, facts, and needs within each group that might become the foundation of further action or barriers to that action.

This knowledge is then brought to a series of “visioning” sessions where a representative leadership group of physicians and adminstrators begin to design what a collaborative environment might look like and the steps that are needed to move toward those goals. Barriers are identified and strategies developed to remove those obstacles.

The process itself provides an educational environment where participants can learn about the needs and challenges of others and begin to work in a cooperative fashion toward a goal that will be mutually beneficial.

Our seasoned team will guide the discussions, challenge the participants, and offer informationabout failed and successful models seen elsewhere.
