Management Services Organizations (MSO) Development/Operation

Many of our hospital clients are looking for ways to support affiliated physicians without the financial burdens of ownership or employment. As a result, we have worked with them to develop and operate Management Services Organizations (MSO). MSOs offer a full range of practice support services such as buying groups, billing services, coding education, access to new technologies such as EMR, and practice management support.
Our MSO services include program feasibility studies, product mix development and pricing, MSO start up, and ongoing management.

Feasibility

We will meet with members of your medical staff and other local physicians to determine what services, if any, may be of interest to them. Based on our findings, we determine viable service offerings, and what resources would be necessary to deliver those services. We can then calculate the financial investment required by the hospital, which will allow management to make an informed decision regarding the development of the MSO.

Product Mix

Based on the services identified during the Feasibility Study, we will develop a list of services to be delivered by the MSO. We are also capable of developing those services on behalf of the hospital. For each service, we will identify an appropriate price that will offset the hospital's costs, and insure compliance with Federal inurnment restrictions.

MSO Start-Up

Our consultants can help your hospital prepare for the initiation of MSO services through staff training, product marketing, and through interim management or involvement.

MSO Management
The Horizon Group is capable of assuming full management responsibility for your hospital's MSO. We will place a full-time manager in your market. This manager will be experienced in medical practice management, and will be supported by The Horizon Group's full compliment of management consultants, billing/reimbursement experts, certified professional coders, and other professionals.
