Physician Compensation

Physician compensation models are one of the major contributors to financial losses in affiliated physician practice networks.  Models that are only a few years old often tie incentives to metrics that are no longer appropriate.  A flawed compensation model can be a major source of ill-will between management and physicians.

Many hospitals are even finding that more than one compensation option is beneficial.  Physicians often have different motivations for their affiliation and are open to varying degrees of operational control over the practice.  Compensation plans can provide appropriate incentives.

Our experienced team has developed plans based on collections, charges, RVUs and net operating margin.  Plans must be matched to the local market and, at least in physician compensation, one size definitely does not fit all.

Most important is the fact that, even when we have made major changes to compensation methodologies, we have been successful in maintaining physician retention.  This is an excellent indicator that they plans we help develop are fair for everyone involved.
